Pakistan School Water & Sanitation

Donate Now

Pakistan is the seventh country in the world in terms of lower access to basic sanitation facilities, with 1 in 3 schools in Pakistan lacking basic toilet provision. Thousands of children in Pakistan have no or very limited access to clean water and healthy sanitation facilities in their schools, especially for adolescent girls who lack adequate facilities to manage their specific biological needs.

With a view to providing students with a healthy learning environment, Muslim Response USA has launched Pakistan School Water & Sanitation Program in South Punjab, starting with the District Rajanpur.  The program is constructing latrines, and hand washing facilities, and providing safe and clean drinking water in government schools.

DONATE generously and support Muslim Response USA in ensuring that children in the rural areas of Pakistan are studying in healthy environment and have sustainable access to safe water and proper sanitation services.

Resumption of Educational Activities for Children affected by the Volcanic Eruption in DR Congo

The volcanic eruption from Mount Nyiragongo in DR Congo on May 22nd forced tens of thousands of people to flee the area. A river of boiling lava from the Mount Nyiragongo destroyed hundreds of homes, left at least 32 people dead, and around 20,000 homeless. The lava also engulfed and destroyed Tujali Watoto School & Vocational Training Center funded by Muslim Response USA in Munigi Chiefdom, which was serving over 300 children from extremely poor and at risk families.

With the generous support from our donors, we have relocated the Tujali Watoto School and resumed educational activities in a rented building. Here are some glimpses of the school bags and teaching aids distribution along with the comments from selected students and their guardians.

The month of Dhul Hijjah provides us with the opportunity to gain as many barakah as we can. Through our Udhiya, we can provide nutritious meat to the hungry and feed them for days. Let’s aim to give as much as we can during the first 10 days of this blessed month, so we can get closer to Allah (SWT).

Please donate your Qurbani.

Sindh Water Supply

Muslim Response USA is implementing Water Supply Project in Thatta district of Sindh province in Pakistan where around 75% people live in poverty and only 13% use tap water. Every day, women and girls in the rural areas have to walk hours under the scorching heat to fetch water fort their families. The majority of the schools have no toilets or facility for drinking water. In addition, tens of thousands of acres of land in Thatta have been eroded by the sea, which is also severely affecting the ground water aquifers. In many areas of the district, the erosion has rendered agricultural lands useless by making them saline and turning the water sources brackish.
